In the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix book, Voldemort learns of a prophecy that could be about him and Harry Potter. The prophecy is stored in the Department of Mysteries at the Ministry of Magic, and Voldemort sends his Death Eaters to retrieve it. However, Harry and his friends also go to the Ministry, and a battle ensues. In the end, Voldemort is defeated, and the prophecy is destroyed.
One question that many fans have is why Voldemort didn’t retrieve the prophecy himself. He is a powerful wizard, and it would have been relatively easy for him to do so. There are a few possible reasons why he didn’t.

First, Voldemort may have been afraid of being exposed. At the time, he was still trying to rebuild his power base, and he didn’t want to draw attention to himself. If he had gone to the Ministry himself, he would have had to use magic, and there is always the risk that someone would see him.

Second, Voldemort may have been afraid of the prophecy itself. He knew that it was about him and Harry, and he didn’t want to know what it said. He may have been afraid that the prophecy would reveal his weaknesses, or that it would give Harry an advantage over him.

Third, Voldemort may have been arrogant. He may have believed that he didn’t need to retrieve the prophecy himself. He may have thought that his Death Eaters were capable of doing it, and that he didn’t need to risk his own life.
Ultimately, we don’t know for sure why Voldemort didn’t retrieve the prophecy himself. However, these are a few possible reasons.
